About us
Rachel Green Founder & Artistic Director
Community Vibe was set up in 2006. Prior to this I have worked in the arts
and health sector for over 18 years as an artist, facilitator (or gofer), a
manager, presenter, a health care professional…. you name it, as long as it
is legal, I have almost probably done it.
From an early age I have always had an active interest in the arts and how
they can help people to communicate and have a dialogue about things that
matter. People call me a social innovator maybe because I am down to earth
and have always been very enthusiastic and passionate about working with
people with different backgrounds and abilities. I just call myself Rachel but
will answer to most things….
One of the most important factors for my work is to wake up every morning
and to be happy and excited about making a difference with the work that we do.
Louise Stokes Dramaturg
Louise is a trained actor, published novelist, playwright, poet, short story and
comedy writer and stand-up character comedian.
As Company Secretary with Community Vibe, Louise’s roles also include
writer, actor, project coordinator and sessional worker.
As a freelance artist, most of her work is issue-based and awareness raising,
using both humour and serious social comment through the mediums of
literature and drama to try and challenge perceptions which are
discriminatory, prejudiced, ignorant, or just plain unhelpful.
Her previous background has given her the opportunity to use her drama &
writing training and skills to work creatively with people experiencing mental
health issues, as well as with a variety of other people from many different
backgrounds.
As a member of the National Federation of Spiritual Healers Louise is a practising
Spiritual Healer, and has completed her second Degree Reiki Healer training.
Gary Archer Technical Director
Gary spent a number of years as an actor before joining Community Vibe in
2006. His background is Theatre, although his work with the company
includes composing and producing music scores, soundtracks, video art,
writing and devising, design, workshop facilitation and research.
In spite of the fact that Gary’s work involves technical equipment, he would
like to point out that he is “not in love with technology” (in other words, he’s
not a geek!) and believes that artistic creativity comes first and foremost
from within a person and not the software gubbings of a supercomputer.
Volunteers
Community Vibe has regular volunteers who are assigned to projects that meet their creative abilities and aspirations.
We are regularly contacted by people and organisations to provide opportunities for people of all ages.
We are able to do this in cases where the skills of the individual are matched to the needs of the creative team on
specific projects.
